Summary
calk-ca.com does not collect, store, or transmit any personal financial data. All calculator computations run entirely on your device, including in our Android and iOS apps, which work offline. On the website we use Google Analytics for anonymous traffic statistics and Google AdSense for advertising; our mobile apps show ads through Google AdMob (which uses your device's advertising identifier) and do not use Google Analytics or AdSense.
1. Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your income, tax details, mortgage information, savings balances, or any other financial data you enter into our calculators. All calculations are performed client-side using JavaScript in your browser. No financial data is ever sent to our servers.
2. Data We DO Collect
We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage statistics: pages visited, time on site, device type, browser, geographic region (country/province level), and referral source. This data is aggregated and cannot identify individual users. We do not use Google Analytics features that collect personal information.
3. Cookies
We use essential cookies for site functionality. Google Analytics and Google AdSense set their own cookies for analytics and ad personalization. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. The site functions fully without non-essential cookies.
4. Advertising
On our website we display ads through Google AdSense, which may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. In our Android and iOS apps we display ads through Google AdMob, which may collect your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS) and limited device information to serve and personalize ads. On iOS the app asks for App Tracking Transparency permission before using that identifier. You can opt out of or limit personalized ads via Google Ad Settings (ads.google.com/settings) on the web, or by resetting or limiting the advertising identifier in your device settings on mobile. We never collect or store the financial figures you enter — calculators run entirely on your device.
5. Third-Party Links
Our calculators link to official government sources (CRA, CMHC, Bank of Canada, provincial government websites) for reference. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.
6. Data Security
Since we do not collect personal financial data, there is no financial data to secure on our end. All calculator inputs remain in your browser session and are cleared when you close or refresh the page.
7. Children
Our calculators are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
